On the eighth day of Christmas ...

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.

  1. The idea of doing a night scene by only using grayscale colors is fascinating. Not sure it 100% works, but I admire the experiment. I like the look of the stone arches mixed with the printed stone bricks too. Not sure if these came before or after my Revelation illustrations, but it's interesting to see other folks using the brick-built black sky with Click-Its stars.

  2. Hey Brendan,

This is actually a fairly old MOC. I'm pretty sure it was up before you started Revelations. If you look around Kezzart's Brickshelf gallery you'll see a lot of interesting use of "girly" elements (Clickits, Belville, Scala).

  3. Hey again,

Score. I knew I'd talked about this before. Back in 2005 I discussed this on Classic-Castle. Presumably that's when it showed up on the Brickshelf 'recent' page.
